SNOW JACKET SPECIFICATIONS EXPLAINED

Our range of men's ski and snowboard jackets is high quality and designed to be functional and stylish on the slopes.

Waterproof Ratings
A waterproof rating for ski jackets is important to consider when purchasing. The ratings for our jackets start at 10K and range to 40K to keep you dry and warm on the slopes. Staying dry is the key to staying warm for the whole day. Simply put, the higher the waterproof rating on a jacket, the longer you will stay dry.

Breathability
Breathability refers to how much sweat, in the form of water vapour, can permeate the jacket to leave your body and keep you dry and, therefore, warm. The more adventurous your ability/skiing style, the higher the breathability, as you are working harder.

SKI JACKET VS DOWN JACKET

Do I need a ski jacket when going to the snow? Can’t I use my puffer/down jacket?  Put simply, No! Although they share common materials, the structure of waterproofing and breathability is different. The purpose of a puffer or down jacket is to keep you warm by retaining body heat. When you are active (skiing or snowboarding), your jacket’s insulation keeps you warm, and the breathability component stops you from overheating, which can cause hypothermia. Generally, ski jackets have a more protective outer layer that can withstand more icy, wet, and snowy conditions.
