Kids Spring Suits are designed to keep kids in the water longer when the water is a bit cooler and are also great for sun protection. Our kids spring suits at Rapid Surf & Ski have short sleeves and short legs and are all 2mm neoprene thickness with a back zip. 

SPRING SUIT VS STEAMER

Spring suits are a popular option over a full length wetsuit, also called a steamer, for the warmer summer and spring months. They are best suited for when a rashie isn't enough and a steamer is too warm. Spring suits are usually 2/2mm in thickness which is thinner than the 3/2mm and 4/3mm steamers that we stock therefore meaning they aren't as warm. This can be advantageous in the hotter months and also the thinner material is more offers a more comfortable flexible fit than thicker neoprene. Springsuits offer warmth around your core and upper body without adding extra bulk around your legs which is another plus over a steamer. 

SPRING SUITS FOR KIDS

Spring suits are easy to get into and kids can easily put them on and take them off themselves. They are a great intro into wetsuits and can help them get comfortable in the water. Always rinse out the spring suit after use and if possible hang out of the sun. Generally whatever size children are in a T-shirt will be their spring suit size. We stock from size 2 to 16 in kids durable spring suits from brands Adrenalin and Peak - both who have been making wetsuits for over 50 years!

WHEN CAN I WEAR SPRING SUIT?

You can wear a spring suit for any swimming, sailing, surfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding or even just a day at the beach when the water is feeling a bit chilly. They balance between warmth and flexibility makes them on of the most versitile of our wetsuit range. The thin neoprene makes it easy to take on and off and also allows for a life jacket to fit snuggly over the top for watersports. Spring suits are mostly worn over summer or at the start or end of summer when it starts to be too warm in the water for a steamer.
